Chatter API: allow multiple segments to be fed into publisher.setPayload

API

Currently, regular canvas API only allows a set feed item types to be published ("TextPost", "LinkPost" and "CanvasPost"):

Sfdc.canvas.client.subscribe(sr.client,
{
  name: "publisher.getPayload", onData: function (event)
  {
    var post = {};

    post.feedItemType = "LinkPost";
    post.url = url;
    post.urlName = urlName;

    Sfdc.canvas.client.publish(sr.client,
      { name: "publisher.setPayload", payload: post });
  }
});

This approach goes against the possibilities of the REST API, which allows multi-segment messages to be published:

var body = {body : {messageSegments : [{type: "Text", text: "Some Chatter Post"}]}};

Sfdc.canvas.client.ajax(url,
    {client : sr.client,
        method: 'POST',
        contentType: "application/json",
        data: JSON.stringify(body),
    ...

I think canvas API should allow programmer to feed . Could be something like this:

Sfdc.canvas.client.subscribe(sr.client,
{
  name: "publisher.getPayload", onData: function (event)
  {
    var post = [
      {type: "Text", text: "Some Chatter Post"},
      {type: "Link", url: "http://google.com", urlText: "Some link"}
    ];

    Sfdc.canvas.client.publish(sr.client,
      { name: "publisher.setPayload", payload: post });
  }
});
