The new feature to create a calendar from any object in Lightning is great, but with one big limitation - there is no ability to share! Collaboration is key for our users and the inability for us to be able to either share and/or allow users to subscribe to a calendar we created with specific filters for the objects, etc. is a disappointment and unfortunately makes this feature much less usable from our perspective.

This is delivered in Spring '20! From the API documentation on CalendarView: "Represents a calendar based on a Salesforce object, both standard and custom. These calendars can be created and assigned to users other than the creator. This object is available in API version 48.0 and later."

Say your sales leader wants a great object calendar published to everyone on her team. Now you can use this API to create that calendar definition and push it to all the desired users! It just appears in the side panel next to the calendar on the Calendar tab.

Subject to Safe Harbor (forward-looking statement), we intend to deliver this in the next release. We are making public an API called "CalendarView" that will allow admins to push an "object calendar" (e.g. a Tasks calendar) to any number of users. The object calendar will just appear in the users' Calendar side panels!

Is anyone from Salesforce are to give us an update on this please? This is such a key feature and still find it hard that it is not available.

This is really holding us back in terms of us fully migrating to SF.

As Administrator I should be able to create custom Calendar and share with users. I had to create calendar for some users and right now the only option is to instruct them on how to create a custom calendar.

Matthew Barnhart At a minimum, an Admin should be able to create and share or publish to a browsable list without the users being able to adjust

Ability to share an object based calendar is absolutely required. The whole idea of creating such a Calendar in most cases is to have visibility for the entire team that have access to the object's records to be able to add and see the shared Calendar.

I just had my colleague create 15 List Views on a Custom Object and then Create 15 Calendars using those List Views.I had assumed he could share those Calendars with my entire CRM Team. Of course Salesforce can't do it! You guys are the masters of getting us halfway to where we need to be.

Now every employee on my CRM Team needs to individually create 15 Calendars on their own. Thanks.

Should an end user be able to send a calendar "definition" to another user? Yes, with permissions.
Or should it be the admin who creates a definition and "pushes" it to end users? Also good, I'm always thinking about security.
If an admin has pushed a calendar to an end user, should that end user be able to delete/remove it? Remove from their view, yes. Delete alltogether, no.
Would it be better if admins and/or users could publish useful calendar definitions to a browsable list? And then other interested users would browse there? YES. YES. YES.
Other ideas? If it is shared, will it also be exportable, or syncable with other calendars like gcal? Maybe a gantt view, in case we're using a PM type object.

I can't believe making these calendars is not sharable yet.
As Admin, I want to be able to create a custom calendar and share it to all my users.
I don't want them to be able to remove it.
I suppose giving them the option to add additional calendars as well is nice too.

Would like the ability to define access to object-based calendars based on profile/perm set (defined by admin). Object-based calendars are a useful tool to provide to users by default based on their persona/role.

Having the option to "subscribe" is a fine idea but I would say having default calendars appear when a user with a particular persona logs in is better for user adoption.

You can imagine a user logging in for the first time seeing the calendar pre-populated with information based on their persona in the system.

It would be helpful if both admins and users could publish useful calendar definitions with a browse option. Also, the ability to add an additional display field would be amazing!
