FSL - Read Only Dispatch Console

For FSL Dispatch Console, there isn't currently a read-only option.

Custom Permissions can be used to manage somewhat Dispatch Console functionality, but this does not allow for full read-only access. Additional FSL Dispatcher License is required in this scenario even if all Custom Permissions were available to control as read-only.

Request; Add new Permission Set/License for 'FSL Dispatch Viewer'. This should be fully read-only (effectively stripping Custom Permissions aside from the Views and List Views) and employing the Lock toggle = true so SAs cannot be moved/assigned.

We need this ASAP. Internal Audit, HR and managers need to be able to see this but not change and it would not be cost-effective to pay for full dispatcher licenses to just view.

Indeed- this will make it so we don’t need our custom permission sets at least. I believe the dispatch license requirement is the remaining step :)

It looks like this is moving forward in some way w/ Summer 20. https://releasenotes.docs.salesforce.com/en-us/summer20/release-notes/rn_field_service_custom_perms.htm "... Fine-tune control over what users can see and do in the dispatcher console with optional custom permissions. For example, you can create a read-only view of the Gantt for service managers. Or, configure which users can drag appointments from the list or map to the Gantt."

Note also that database update for Gantt Lock is happening after toggle is set. So VF page allows unlock while database update is blocked by validation, which doesn't make sense.

This would be nice. Currently, we are developing a validation rule that will prevent certain users from updating information on the gantt.

Different levels of Dispatcher accesses are required specilluy when the Territory is big and dispatcher team has its own higherarchy . Also kind of a suer user is also required . Really helpful to enhance the dispatches , color coding with priority and calender event entry with the same effect in mobille .

This is something we need for our business. Switching to FSL effectively means stripping many users' viewership of what was previously a public tech scheduling chart, unless we want to pay for dispatcher licenses just to get read access. This is not cost effective, and will instead mean regularly exporting appointment data to excel for further processing.
