Frozen Users Should Not Receive Emails from Salesforce

Authorization & Permissions

If a User has been Frozen using the new Freeze button on the user record, that user should receive no emails from Salesforce. They should not receive email alerts, scheduled reports, or system notifications.

Often automated emails, especially reports, contain information that is current and relevant to the company, and if a user is Frozen it is generally because they are about to be removed. Therefore, if they are receiving emails about current events, that is a security risk!

    Good morning, I'm the product manager for the freeze users feature. I'm sorry about this bug. We have done an investigation to identify the root cause, and are working to release a fix at the earliest opportunity. Unfortunately the issue occurs deep in the guts of our email infrastructure. It's going to take at least a few months to resolve satisfactorily.

    I'll make sure to communicate both here and through a release notes update when we've been able to block emails from being sent to frozen users. Also, here is the related Knowledge Base article:
