Sharing Settings for Lookup Relationships like Controlled by Parent
Accounts & Contacts
One of the benefits of Master-Detail relationships is the ability to set the Sharing Settings so that child records inherit visibility from their parent (e.g. an Account Owner can see all Opps on the Account even if the Account Owner doesn't own the Opp). I would love to see this work for Lookup Relationships too.
There are situations where a child object isn't required to be associated to another object (which means we have to use Lookup and we can't use Master-Detail because a Parent relationship is always required for a Master-Detail relationship), but when it is, we would like to inherit visibility from that Lookup relationship. So if a Child Object is related to Account via Lookup, I'd like that Child's visibility to be determined by who has visibility to the Account. Without this, the only option is Apex Managed Sharing which is complex (i.e. expensive).
