StandardController AddFields method should be testable

Accounts & Contacts

There is currently no way to write a test method that directly tests the addfields method for standardController.
Requires workaround in code to determine if the running context is test and bypass the addfields method.

Sample issue:
public class StandardSetControllerTestIssueExt{
public StandardSetControllerTestIssueExt(ApexPages.StandardController cont){

List<String> fields = new List<String>();
fields.add('Account');
cont.addFields(fields);//I get my error here when my test method executes

}

static testMethod void testStandardSetControllerTestIssue(){
PageReference pageRef = Page.StandardSetControllerTestIssue;

Case myCase = [SELECT ID FROM Case LIMIT 1];
Test.setCurrentPage(pageRef);
ApexPages.StandardController controller = new ApexPages.StandardController(myCase);

StandardSetControllerTestIssueExt extController = new StandardSetControllerTestIssueExt(controller);

}

}

Workaround.  Does not cover this method.
if (!Test.isRunningTest()) {
cont.addFields(fields)'
}
