Knowledge Articles - Ability to change Article Types

Currently there is no way to convert Articles from one Article Type to another. This can be an issue for organizations using more than one Article type, especially when they enable the permission for users to create an Article when closing a case. You have to default an Article Type for users creating Articles at case closure, but there is no way for Article Managers to convert the Article to a different type. Best solution would be to allow changing Article Types, like you can change Record Types for any other object. If not, an alternative would be to not default one Article Type to users, but allow them to select the Article Type they need to create when closing the case.
