Sorting on the columns in the "Custom Fields & Relationships"

It would be nice if we could sort colums in the "custom field and relationship" set up menu. That way I can sort the "data type" column when I'm looking for a particular field and it is a hidden formula field etc. It would also help if we could sort on the "Modified By" column that way I can really fast see who did what on the fields.

Surely the Points : Effort ratio should be applied ranking this idea near the top. (maybe that should be an idea)

This has to be the easiest Idea of them all to deliver on.
The amount of time saved by Salesforce Partners/Customers would be huge!!!!

This looks to be one of those things folks have accepted as being un-changeable. As of now... there are at least 24 people being notified about this comment. If everybody tweeted the following, we could start seeing some real traction:

Either we need to get a lot more publicity ((5 years old and not a lot of traction) or we all fail to see an obvious and convenient way to navigate those fields...

Objects with a few hundred custom fields are not that uncommon! This would be REALLY helpful!

I would add sorting not just by Data Type and Modified By, but also by Name.

Yes! Yes! This is a huge need for me because I am prefixing custom API names with something to denote custom fields we have added and it's only does a default sort on Field Label which I wouldn't prefix as that is a display label. Sorting by things I have modified is an obvioius need as well. There are many objects with a very large number of fields and I do most of my administration in the Custom Fields & Relationships setup.

This is a must! a key feature in the fields layout! using the 'find bar' is a waste of time and not really helpful as we cannot group by type or last modify by/date. Please action this simple but essential feature

Yes, I am always fighting with this. Its a very welcome feature. I am always doing searches on the browser using a specific User and/or Date to filter the latest ones I have created.

So simple, yet so relevant. It could be that a separation of the Modified By between the user and the time is needed to make it clear what you want to sort by. Datetime would be more relevant in most situations.
