ChangeSet functionality improvements

Would like to see the functionality to deploy standard objects via change sets.
This should include picklist changes and all page layouts.

It is frustrating that we need to replicate all picklist changes on standard objects when deploying from sandbox to live as changeset do not support standard objects.

Close Case page layout is missing from the changeset options and cannot be deployed.

It does not work properly for deploying email templates if they are in a sub folder. Even when adding the folder to the changeset it fails. the folder must manually be creating in the target ord before the change set can work.

As others have indicated, standard fields, such as picklists available for editing on record types, would be extremely helpful to include as change sets components. I'm glad to see the idea is under development. Thank you!

Being able to add a standard salesforce field to a Change set is a must!. For example you create a salespath for Opportunity and use the standard 'stage' field, need those new field values created for the salespath, carried over in the change set. Currently, this is impossible to do standard field wise and achieved only manually.
Huge improvements needed to change set functionality, I feel you all below on your insights/comments.

Better yet, what are Salesforce's plans to ditch this horrible legacy Classic-style "changeset" implementation altogether and replace with a modern development interface that integrates directly with a repo, e.g. Bitbucket, GitHub etc so we can actually do version control, pull branches, do merges, diffs, deletes etc instead of being limited to only additive, non-reversible changes using this dated clunky interface?

Closed case layouts is kind of a big deal... (not to mention these other ones). Yet another reason to move to DX and avoid a horribly sub-par, problematic feature in change sets.

+1 @JoshPHendrix this is an absolute must!

If anyone has ever needed to delete say 25 components out of 200 from a change set - they will surely tell you that this is a ridiculously long and click-intensive process. We're talking 14k dial-up modem level speeds (not exaggerating). Probably takes about 5 minutes where it should take 20 seconds.

Thanks for letting us share more feedback in the survey! Very useful as the description of this idea while important is definitely not comprehensive in our own use case.

And to add to the last post - bulk operations (such as Delete Selected) on a list of filtered items would be very welcome.

And I'd like to mention again - not being able to add Site Guest User Profiles to a changeset means they have to be deployed everywhere by hand. This is a configuration headache and and in my view can be a security issue, because doing things by hand means mistakes get made. This was an undocumented feature before, it would be very useful to have back! :-)

@Karen Fidelak - great that this is in development. One additional suggestion - on the Change Set Components panel, it would be really helpful to be able to sort by any of the column headings, particularly Type, and also to have a Search (Filter) field, so that if I only wanted to see, for example, the Email templates included in the Changeset, I could work with only those, a la Datatables.
