Activate/Deactivate flows via Metadata API


Within reasonable limits, the metadata API gives full CRUD support for Salesforce Flows. However, you cannot activate or deactivate flows from any API that I can find. This means that you can write business productivity tools to speed up changes to flows and provide complete consistency. But then you need to have a Salesforce admin just to activate the flow. Everything is possible except that one little thing!

    Further updates were made in Winter'19 to enhance the Flow metadata to include a 'status' field to allow activation/deactivation of Flows via the Metadata API.   More information can be seen here:
