Usage of Users Permission Sets in Formulas, Validation Rules and Lookup Filters

Authorization & Permissions

It would be very useful an consequent to use the "Permission Set" information a current users is associated with for Formula Fields, Validation Rules, Workflow Rules and Lookup Filters. This should work similar like as of today when using the current users Profile or User Role information.

Our requirement for example is to create a lookup filter on a User lookup field. Only users which are having a specific Permission set associated shall be displayed in the User lookup field.

@Tony Barrow - great workaround! You could even use a nested query to check specific permissions that way so that the current user can only save the record if they have Modify All Data, Read on Accounts, or even access to some visualforce page or apex class.
