Schedule Reports as Attachments and add Adobe PDF, Excel Option

Operational Reporting

The schedule report feature is nice but it would be great to have an option to have these reports as an Adobe PDF attachment. I run reports to our Executive Team and need them in an PDF format. Also, sometimes I also need to schedule reports to Excel where I need to do a little formatting before I send the report on to others.

Users will now be able to subscribe to reports as Formatted Excel or Details Only CSV & get these delivered to their inbox and show both the report email results and atttachment in the same email. Also, we have increased the row and column limits for the file attachments (there can be up to 15,000 rows and 30 columns as part of the report subscription attachment). This functionality is available in the Winter '21 release for Lightning only. To learn more, please see:

We will not be supporting PDF as an option for the report subscription, as customer research has shown us that many customers prefer having a PDF attachment for a dashboard subscription than a report subscription. In addition, there isn't a scalable way for us to deliver a PDF file in Lightning yet, we are waiting for the new PDF service to be complete so that subscriptions can use that new PDF service in the future, so having a PDF file attachment is at least 3 releases away.
