Ability to prevent adding Notes & Attachments to a locked opportunity

When an opportunity is locked, SFDC does not allow users make changes to the opportunity. However Notes and Attachments can be added. We want the ability to prevent adding Notes & Attachment to an opportunity when it is locked.

This is an issue for us from an audit point of view - we can lock records and show the data has not been editied, but atatchments are still open... not good.

Very important, it doesnt make sence, that notes/Attachments are "open" although record is locked

This would be beneficial to our business as well with the ability to change expenses after final approvals. The entire record should be shut down at a given point.

We should have a functionality that will prevent users from removing an attahced document. We are using a custom object to receive Purchase Orders from our partners through community portal and we want the attached purchase orders to be visible and read only for all; both interanl users and partner users, once it is attached. However, the partner users should be able to attach amended purchase orders.

I am sure such a functinality will help keep contractual documents and their versions intact.

What good does a record being locked if you can still add stuff to it. Currently dealing with this issue.

This is pretty basic requirement and would be a great help for lot of customers. I am wondering why there is no movement on this idea for the past couple of years!

This is a must. I would also develop an option to make attachments mandatory as needed.

we need to make sure people do not delete the attachments and notes attached to a closed opportunity!

This feature is critically needed. As another commentor noted here, the record isn't locked if people can add new attachments.

Another missing feature? A record isn't locked if you can edit what other related items are associated with it. Essential to a real Opp approval process, with Invoices, POs, Sales Orders, and other records attached to the Opp.

What good is the approval if someone can just reattach a new Sales Order after the fact?
