Set Time-Based Workflow rules to fire without editing existing records or creati

Process Automation

We have a workflow rule set up to remind our reps of their Contact's impending birthdays. Since our reps rarely edit Contact records and since the system requires that a record gets touched (edited or created) to fire the rule, we are forced to do an update (via Data Loader) to force the rule to trigger. Can we introduce a scheduling feature that will fire a workflow rule (once a month, a year etc.) without requiring user intervention?

Hi Angela- we recently implemented a 'minimum point threshold' of 2,500 points (250 votes) to have an Idea officially reviewed by the product team.  Once it hits this # they'll review and determine whether it can be delivered (and post a response). Now, that doesn't mean we won't look at or deliver Ideas under that threshold, because we will, it just means you can definitely expect an update over that number.

So this particular Idea is below the threshold, but I was talking with the product manager for it and she was in the process of reviewing her product Ideas (big and small) today. I'll post again if there is more news to share on this one.  Until then let me know if you have questions.
