Improve Calendar UI - More Google like

Sales Productivity

The calendar interface for Salesforce is the weakest of all the UI elements. 100% of our users report the calendar as being the most challenging piece to navigate. The method of endless scrolling left and right, and trying to view multiple calendars is extremely tedious. This is an area where significant improvement to make the calendar look and feel more like a WebDav calendar, or Google Calendar would be most helpful. There are quite a few better browser implementations of a calendar out there on the web. Salesforce could use that UI improvement.

This Idea originated when only Classic existed, and it's the newer Lightning Calendar has been delivering on it release after release! From its conception, it has made viewing multiple calendars at once the principle behind its design. For years it has allowed other users' calendars (look up "Shared Calendars") visible. Also Public Calendars and Resource Calendars. In Spring '19, Summer '19, and Winter '20, we have seen such User Experience improvements as:
    • Better display of essential Event data in the calendar "tiles"
    • Display of all ten fields of the Event Compact Layout in the "preview" card
    • New "Availability view" that shows any number of distinct calendars in easy-to-read multi-column view
Thanks to all Trailblazers for supporting the Ideas that have led us to improve Calendar!
