Related lists filterable by user

It would be fine if the user has the ability to filter a related list. Some related lists has a huge amount of records, but only a certain group are interesting for the user. It would be sufficient if the administrator could at least define one field on the related list which is filterable by the user.

10/18/2012 Edited title from "Filterable related lists" to "Related lists filterable by user", to help disambiguate from the idea Intelligent Related Lists, which is about admin-level related list filtering.

This idea will be marked as 'delivered' since the focus is on 'filterable by user'.  We have another idea (here) that will focus on Admin filtering.  That use case will solve a lot of your questions re: I want to put an Open Oppty related list and Open Oppty realted list on the same page.  Admin filtering will be persistent on the server so you'll be able to add as many custom related lists as you like.  You'll be able to choose the columns, actions, etc, just like any other related list today, but the addition of adding 1 or more filters will give you the ability to create your own custom related lists!  Please upvote the idea linked above.
