Record Types on Assets

Accounts & Contacts

It would be very helpful for SFDC customers who classify the assets their customers have to be able to configure Asset Record Types. It's one of the only objects that doesn't have a record type feature. This would help to determine the appropriate fields a support rep should fill out to track assets.

This feature is planned to be included in the next release currently scheduled for early 2015.

FYI, the Pre-Release environment has already been upgraded to the Spring '15 Release and is due to be exposed to customers December 18th (safe harbor).

The actual Spring '15 Release for Production environments is planned for February 6th - 14th.
However, please refer to trust.salesforce.com as these dates could change.
