New Fields - add to Custom Report Types

Love Custom Reports! Managing them would be far easier if there was the ability to choose whether a new field (being created) should be added to any/all Custom Report types where the object the field is being created in, exists.

Hello Ankita - I have a client that was very excited to see this functionaity in beta so we tested it out right away.
In a sandbox it worked as expected, but we found that this functionality does not migrate to other orgs when we go through our usual realase cycle. We did enable the feature in both the source and the recipient orgs, but a newly created custom field only "shows up" as available in reports if the field is manually created in the same org.
This negates the value of the feature for us since we always move changes from dev sandboxes, through a full copy sandbox, and then to Production.
Can this feature be updated to respect new custom fields as they're migrated? We'd like to raise our hands to test this if it can be made available.Thank you - Leslie

I do hope this will be implemented in such a way that it will NOT automatically add it, but ASKs where it will need to be added.
Within one org one might work with multiple divisions, each of which has differnt reporting requirements, not to speak about regional differences and business requirements, custom report types are finetuned to show only the fields needed for a certain scenario. When business requests new fields, part of the request will be to list which CRT's the fields need to be added to. Please either make this a simple switch, or even better extend CRT funcionality, to have more parameters, to organise them in libraries/folders/groups, and have us choose for which groups we want this updated.
A feature which will helps to determine, in which report type a field is used (or not), would also be a great extra.

For Lightning:
Go to the Setup -> Report Types. Select the Report Type which is missing these fields. Click on Edit Layout at the bottom of the page. On the right-hand side of the page, you will see View. Select the object that has the missing fields. Any field that is missing from the existing Report Type will show up in a greenish color. You can pull these into the report.
