Rollup summary for Standard Relationships on Account: Assets, Cases and Contacts

Customization & App Building

Multiple ideas around enabling Rollup summary fields for some standard relationships on Account have been merged into this idea.
This idea covers following relationships:
  • Account -> Asset
  • Account -> Case
  • Account ->Contact
With some use cases that I've pulled from the comments:
"We would be able to have the following key pieces of information:
- The number of open cases for the account
- The number of total cases the account has had.
- The date and time of the last case activity for the account."

"Say I have 3 contacts under ABC Corporation:
Mary Jones; $100,000 annual purchasing power; 5 years at ABC Corp (from formula); Power of one=1.
Bob Smith; $78,000 annual purchasing power; 3 years at ABC Corp (from formula); Power of one=1.
Susan Giddings; $160,000 annual purchasing power; 8 years at ABC Corp (from formula); Power of one=1.

"Roll-up fields on the account could summarize the following information for me:
Average longevity of contacts at ABC Corp = AVERAGE of years at ABC Corp = 5.3
Total annual purchasing power of contacts at ABC Corp = SUM of purchasing power = $338,000
Number of contacts at ABC Corp = SUM of Power of one = 3"

"It would be great to have a roll up sum of the asset price of all assets associated with an account."
