Surely this is coming soon?!?! This seems like obvious functionality. It seems like it's been part of the Salesforce "new" process for quite some time. We definitely need this, to allow users to select the appropriate record type for their actions, without having to create a dozen different action buttons (especially cumbersome since only a few are immediately visible on the page).

Definitely a gap in functionality. Especially when we would want different users to be able to create records with different record type based on user Profile
What workarounds have people found?

One of the biggest benefits of Salesforce is the ability to segment records using Records Types.
In Classic, when selecting the "New" button on an Opportunity (or Account, etc.) you are asked which of the 4 Record Types.
In Lightning (with Actions) you woudl have to create FOUR (4) Actions - 1 for EACH Record Type (no imagine that you had 8 Record Types, etc.).
Why did they EVER make an Action (especially a "Create New Record" Action be Record Type specific - this is definately a step backwards.
Is there really no simple way to replicate what was already there for 15 years (the NEW button)?
How did Record Type efficiency get totally ignored when we went to Lightning and Actions?
