Hi everyone, wanted to give an update on this feature since we know you're eagerly awaiting support for our Outlook integration in shared mailboxes!
Subject to safe harbor, we're hoping to allow users to use the Salesforce add-in from shared mailboxes to log emails and events, create new Salesforce records, manage Salesforce Tasks, and use Salesforce email templates, in either the Summer '20 or Winter '21 release.
An important note about support for this feature: Because we are leveraging Microsoft's add-in framework and certain of their APIs, this feature will only be supported for customers running Exchange Online or the monthly channel on Windows.

This is purely a regression for which we were not informed when we were asked to install the lightning for Outlook!
We have had no alternative but to give back to users the "old" SFO connector so that they can continue using it from their Shared mail boxes.
Please make sure SFO is maintened until this capability (use connector from shared mailboxes) is available with the Lightning for Outlook.

Salesforce for outlook has been a big drama for everyone, if you promote using "lightning for outlook" then at least give it the same options as Salesforce for outlook. It's rather embarrassing to advise them to swtich back or to propose a workaround in which the enduser would have to drag all those emails to your personal inbox, relate them and drag them bag.

Subject to forward-looking statements, it's on our roadmap to consume Microsoft's new ability to use add-ins with shared mailboxes on certain supported Outlook clients. We hear you and will work over the coming releases to allow you to use our Outlook integration in shared mailboxes on those supported clients.

We also use shared mailboxes and have had to revert back to SFO until Outlook Integration can work with shared masilboxes. Such a shame as Outlook Integration looks like it could save us time, attach documents to the right places and generally make life easier. Fingers crossed it it updated soon....
