Hey Everyone! I have some exciting news to share, see below: |

This would be great as long as the history of edits is recorded for admins to see; which I'm sure would be included. |

I completely agree... Deleting a post after noticing an error in your grammar or thought process @0200 when writing it gets old after a while. Being able to click the dragdown arrow on the top right and select Edit Comment would be very helpful and completely utilized. |

I think this is a feature that is very key to communications through Chatter. People make typos. They need to edit things. It happens. Facebook really dragged their feet getting this into their code and I hope Saleforce doesn't take as long. |

To be able to track changes, maybe do it similar to wiki pages. Every version stays for reference, but only the current version is displayed. |

Fixing this issue would also give us the ability to create a trigger to "merge" Chatter feeds when merging records. Theoretically we could create a trigger to update the ParentID before the merge action occurs. https://success.salesforce.com/ideaView?id=08730000000Yu03AAC |

If facebook can do this today (you can edit your post) even if comments are added in the thread by others- we should be able to easily do this also with Salesforce. |

If compliance is an issue - why can an Admin delete other records? Compliance is a non-issue for many companies. |

Yes and Admins need the ability to delete any post through the UI without having to use the API / Data Loader to remove a post - REAL pain. Would love the ability to have an easy default all off so stuff doesn't post automatically whether you want it or not (e.g. lead converstion chatter posts - why can't that be turned off!). |

NB: Google Wave had this along with a useful history (playback) feature; so you could edit anything; but there'd be a way to view the history to see who did what, when, so if people were malicious / the posts were changed in such a way that the listed information no longer made sense you could see what had happenned. Google Wave Example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p6pgxLaDdQw Issue with editing out of sequence: Paul Posts: "Who wants to go to the pub at 5pm today?" Janice Responds: "Me! See you there at 5!". Paul amends original post: "Who wants to buy me a pint in the pub at 5pm today?" Post now reads: Paul: "Who wants to buy me a pint in the pub at 5pm today?" Janice: "Me! See you there at 5!". |

Hi Lindsay, I don't know of any updates at this time but let me reach out to the Product Manager there's anything new we can share. Previous Update: Update from Product Management: This feature is on our backlog but, unfortunately we're not likely to get done in the next release or two. There are complexities around compliance and having to keep all previous versions of posts/comments as they're edited that we need to consider. |

Kristie, any update here? Facebook's had the feature for some time now, and it's so fabulous. I'm sure it'd make a world of difference here in the business world. Thanks! |

I like the idea but would like the posting marked as edited with a way to see the orginal text if wanted. |
