Come on guys, this really is a flaw, that either encourages incomplete date to be entered, or means administrators have to pull the quick create option. Must be thousands of org's who have opted for the later, having found they have corrupt data. Surely the quick create link, on a lookup page, could be linked to a specific page layout. |

It surprises me that this hasn't been fixed. We just discovered this issue after discovering our sales team was adding contacts in the lookup which didn't have accounts associated with them. At a minimum, one would think that the user would at least have an option to complete the account field. This is a big flaw in my opinion. Disabled until improvements are made. |

Just disabled Quick create for entire organization, It was letting users bypass my Matching & Duplicate Rules. |

I would recommend adding config like, selection of record type and use of already created page layouts available for that object. |

@Kristie Garafola, Can you check to see if any updates are available on this? Last one came in a year ago... |

Just discovered this major flaw and how my salesteam for the last 2 years has been shortcutting adding new records, and NOT filling in required fields which has destroyed our marketing numbers because the lack of this required data gives them the credit for finding the lead, when in all reality it was marketing. Someone actually lost their job over this-- thank you salesforce for not doing a damn thing about this for years and affecting someone's life. |

Please fix this so that we can actually use quick create and allow us to customize the quick create UI. |

Making this change would help our users and ensure data quality. Currently it is creating more work for our users who have to then recreate the contact after they find the information necessary is not there, or it is an incorrect contact type (we have different contact types). |

Wow this is crazy, I actually didnt realise this was the behaviour....I have swiftly turned off Quick Create!!! |

First, it is a data quality issue as everybody knows.
But apparently records created with quick search don't trigger sharing rules if they don't have all required fields ok.
So those records are invisible in our reports except for the owner.
