Our use case is that today we need a visual force page to display all related records on a case created in chronological order. This includes case comments, tasks, and other related records created by our field service personnel. It would be great to be able to ditch the code and custom page in favor of the case feed where creation of all related records could be logged in the feed to achieve the same timeline of what actions were taken on the case. This would be a perfect addition to using clicks, not code. |

I've found myself in several situations where it would be extremely beneficial to be able to post to a related record. This seems like fairly basic functionality. |

We have LOTS of child objects that need to report up - which makes Chatter less effective than it should be. |

I have many child Objects on Contracts and Opportunities which represent documents. Chatter updates for these need to be fed into the parent Object, so they can be reviewed in one stream. |

Would be nice if I could push updates on a related child record, to the parent records chatter feed. |

If in the Process Builder the option is there for "This Record" it should be on the related record, not the user. There is a user option there already. |

This functionality is very much needed. I'll use the workarounds suggested by others below and call a Flow for now. If I can use Process Builder to post to the Chatter Feed of a related object (like I can do a field update on a related object) and @mention the related record owner, I could eliminate the need to set up a separate email notification because the Chatter @mention handles that for me. |

I really needed this today and was disappointed to find out it wasn't available. I wanted 1 Process Builder item to add a Chatter Note onto a related object with 2 possible outcomes. If I were to go the route with Flows, that means creating 1 Process Builder item and 2 Flows. This should be standard functionality. Flows are so difficult to work with! |

Like other users we solved this with a flow. We created a generic flow that others can use to make it easy for those unfamiliar with flows. You can check out an unmanaged package to install it here: http://gravitylab.nz/salesforce-admin-tools/ Scroll down to "Better Chatter Posts" It allows you to choose a record and someone to mention. |

Alternatively another interesting idea is to @mention an object in a chatter post. see https://success.salesforce.com/ideaView?id=08730000000kslzAAA |

Would indeed be very interesting to concentrate posts on central objects, e.g on the Account. |
