    Can we please shut down this discussion.  I am tired of receiving additional discussion comments from people for over 3 years now for something that SalesForce is unwilling to fix for close to 9 years now.  If SalesForce wanted to fix this it would have been done by now.  You obviously don't want to, so just state that you won't, close this discussion and we can stop getting emails that only irritate us of this fact.

    I'm vote 18,750 for this idea; it would be a kick a$$ feature if there were only a way to customize it....even slightly, to ensure that:
    1. Fields on my orgs contact record could be added to the template
    2. We could brand the email sent out and the final page (post contact update)
    Will this be reviewed again anytime soon? Or could you help us understand why not...it may help our perspective on the matter.

    The most frustrating thing for me is that the standard out of the box offering works and is a good idea. Why we can't customise and brand it is beyond me. Why you would push Customers to an App as an alternative is as counter intuitive as your new Lightning Experience? I'm building my replacement in Act-On and I would imagine Pardot users could do the same. Saleforce can be so frustrating .. you are turning into another Microsoft which is bizarre considering the origins of Salesforce.

    SMH!!! Not Planned? Really?! How many years and votes does it take to implement something so simple, yet important as this? Kristie Garafola, it appears that you're mainly the PR person and not directly responsible for the implementation of these ideas, but can you please explain to me and the other members of this community the criteria used in adding an idea to your roadmap? Who are the persons responsible for making these decisions? What accountability measures are in place to ensure that this implementation team focuses on what is important to the people (or company) they were meant to serve rather than what is important to them based on their personal preference or fancy? I'm curious because this isn't the first time I have seen important (and very popular) ideas with thousands upon thousands of votes either ignored or pushed to the back for years without any attention.

    Why are we paying Salesforce, and in turn marketing YOUR company to OUR clients with the use of YOUR logo on OUR stay in touch emails to OUR clients. So lame and inconsiderate.  Not the way to treat YOUR customers.

    We simply want to only send certain fields to the customer to update, not every possible field, as that makes the job too messy and complicated for the customer.

    We have just started using salesforce and I was amazed that this functionality doesnt exist and shocked when it seems that there is nothing planned to resolve it..

    As a new user I get the impression that SF is really only interested in the core functionality and leaves the customisations to their ecosystem partners to make a dollar in customisation.

    I am not really happy with the solution that is built in and not really happy with having to use an addon.

    I will speak to our admin to see what we can do, but with hundreds of contacts I was hoping to update it is too labourious to do manually.

    I cannot use the internal SF stay in touch form as it asks for home contact details... and that is not a polite request.

    They botched it up, so it does not get responses.  So they will not fix it because it is broken.  No clue.  No clue what regular people want.  You need to be a major CEO for Marc to hear you speak.  Notice they killed 27 ideas along with this one.  Vote down their responses to get the idea across.  It is pointless to cover up for your failure with nice words.  You wasted our time and money.  You do not care.
