As more and more organizations move towards "digital transformation" (especially for nonprofits), this is a requirement as most (if not all) donation thank you "letters" (emails) and grant payment "letters" (emails) are automated on a time-schedule. And those notifications are required by Auditors to review as part of compliance, so it's a huge disservice to not have a way to do this OR need to hire a developer to code this.
anyone used to use Einstein Activity Capture + sending workflow emails to a user with EAC active to have those emails visible in the timeline?
This was an ok workaround till Summer '21.
Now it does not work anymore thanks to this:
This feature idea requests to restore this workaround:
Anyone interested in seeing automatic emails visible in the timeline, please consider giving a thumbs up to. Thanks
Hello I am also super frustrated with the fact that this is not implemented yet and I have been waiting for more than 10 years. Couple of years ago I started using unselectively capture standard it asked the free version included if you buy at least one activity capture since Einstein and use that simply putting as other recipient of workflow automated email alerts in a dress that would forward to multiple other users such as an email group. This works great for all operational emails such as on boarding automated emails or similar emails such as invoices and similar. Now with summer 21 it seems that the workaround won't work anymore as the default join settings for those can't be any more shared with everyone it must be private. It's as if salesforce wants at all costs sell a marketing automation package such as pardot instead of developing this feature in a decent way or at least allowing the workarounds to be viable so I'd like to know who else has been using instead of capture at work around And is now stuck again thanks to the fact that summer 21 depleted search feature killing the workaround. Apologies this message has been dictated while driving so sorry for typos

While I commend the community workarounds proposed, they are not adaquate replacements for Salesforce releasing full support for automated, workflow, or process builder based emails sent from records in the platform. Can't believe this is 13 years in the making, and that an update from Salsforce from a year ago has not yet progressed this Idea at least to the point of consideration or prioritization.
There is an idea with 170 points on the May Prioritization Cycle in here right now, and this idea has ~70,000.

Any email alert whether triggered by Workflow Rules, Process Builders, or Flow should be easily captured in activity history. This idea is 13 years old has a large number of votes and is still only a the radar and not being developed if we have to go by the last comment from Salesforce a year ago.
For many reasons including audit use cases, making sure that the system captures or keeps a copy of the email alert sent in Activity History is important and should be a standard piece of functionality. Please shift a little focus to this idea. Flow has been a focus and will always be a focus, but this is a well-seasoned idea that it is time to tackle.

I landed here when I found that a 12 year old unrelated idea was merged into this:
Visualforce Email Template - Users Edit HTML After Selected
