STARTING WORK 4 years ago! This is unreal. The fact that I can't create a formula field to determine the last date an account had a completed task with a type of visit is ABSURD. Clearly the ability to use the Type field isn't what was delivered in Summer 14!
Can someone at Salesforce actually give updated comments more than every 4 years?????

So heping out in the Answers Community came accross the fact that validation rules ActivityDateTime dont trigger on record creation, the weirdest thing ever.
We did find a WORKAROUND: DATEVALUE(ActivityDateTime) < TODAY()
Hope this helps some whislt gets fully delivered!

Was surprised to see I couldn't reference this standard field in a formula field. However as a workaround I took off the required designation off of the field level security on the standard field and then removed the field from my page layouts. I then created a picklist field with my same values and am currently using that in place of the original standard field. Not sure what type of functionality i will lose out on by doing it this way but this field was necessary for the use case I am currently working on. Still evaluating.

So let me get this straight: This very simple idea was posted 10 YEARS ago, SFDC partially delivered the ask in 2014, yet there's been no update since then to alert us as to what was actually done?? Hello? Could SFDC maybe stop the annual Dreamforce to focus on hiring a few thousand extra programmers so we can get these rudimentary ideas implemented?!
