The ability to add explanatory text to a page layout would be very useful. At the moment we have achieved this by creating custom formula fields (type text area) with default text, but it only displays on the View screen, not the Edit screen (so is not much use for guiding the user on their input). Also, it means we are storing an extra 255 characters for each record, which contains the same default text in every record. If we added 4 or 5 of these 255-character explanatory notes on a record, this would mean saving an extra 1000+ characters on every record - what a waste of storage space!! |

Found this after looking for a way to add descriptive text or disclaimers to certain parts of the page layout, available in display or edit mode. I can create a formula field that will display my text on the display page, but my boss keeps asking for disclaimers that explain certain things as a record is being created. |

Definitely need the ability to add section of static text / instructions to a page. |

We have pages with a wide range of validation rules depending on what the record status is. It'd be nice to put static text at the top of the page with a quick guide to what users need to be prepared to address for different validation rules. |

This is a very logical way of grouping fields within sections. Plaese add. |

The ability to add static help text/description to a page at the field or section level would be incredibly helpful. |

We would use this to store survey results. The default label length is too short to hold the whole question, so we would put the question text on the page layout above each survey answer saved in the record. |

I was in discussion with support today on this idea. I wanted to add an object description to explain what the object was used for, but found there was nowhere to embed a text description. |
