I cannot use tasks for entering appointments into SF as I cannot specify a time.
I started to use events, as I can specify a time for the event to occur. e.g. at 2pm, call client. I cannot mark the event as complete, so therefore anyone else looking at the event will not know if is complete or outstanding.
I am amazed that SF is so lacking in the very basic ability to be able to schedule "something" at a specific time, have it appear in the calendar, get a reminder and then mark it as closed.

All events that pass, do not have any status associated with them. We would like the agents to mark them closed before they disappear into neverland :). What if someone sets up an event and forgets all about it? It doesn't come up anymore after the event passes. However, the main thing is for the administrator (the head broker) to see what tasks and events are still open/active without all the events coming up with no status at all.
