Hi Community, this idea is resurfaced and is included in the next cycle of IdeaExchange Prioritization from Jan. 18 - Feb. 1. It would enable additional Forecast Category on the Opportunity object, and allow editing of Forecast Category labels. This Forecast Category would be included in Forecasting rollups. Help us determine if we should prioritize this feature over others on our product roadmap as we begin planning for Winter '22 and beyond. Sorry to see this has again been deprecated in favour of high level "easier" features. I think the voting model is flawed in that it's only based on total numbers of votes by the looks of things. It therefore stands to reason that ideas that are used by more people and who may be less "involved" will always get a higher vote. This means our needs here will always be below the mark for winning.
I may be wrong on the voting model, but given SF's roots, you'd think that a real value function for CRM and the true science of sales such as forecasts would have a weighting here.
Printing dashboards for example is nice, but why not use reports for that or even dare I say it, Office 365 data connections.

We likely need to get a dedicated idea on this. If I get some free time, I'll look into -- otherwise, let me know if you guys make one.

Deinitely need an option between Commit and Best Case - we have to supply a single forecast number each week to Finance for them to be able to forecast Revenue. Our workarounds (check boxes on opps) are not sustainable with the volume of opportunities that we have coming in and also means we can't see it on the Forecast object, so Forecast object is almost unuseable for us :(

Add the abilty to forecast by opportunity type while you're at it.
Can't forecast by Renewal, Expansion or New Business for SaaS based companies. Very surprised this isn't available, so customers have to use other tools such as Clari to forecast accurately. You're missing out Salesforce.
